C'etait le temps?
I think it'd be smart to add a necessary MAIS, a but for all you others, to the last entry.
I am indeed Angela "no excuses" Workoff, however, I think I'm also Angela "queen o' context" Work to the off as well. Le contexte? it was the pissing down rain weather, as my subject heading implied. but more specifically...
On the flip side of Geneseo and what it has to offer, I'd say that it is the finest security blanket that i have ever experienced in my entire life. the people i've met there have created a sense of family not in the "good night john boy" shitty kind of way, but rather in the way that being friends with the people in geneseo makes me realize that i move out of my parents home and leave the blood family i've known all my life, but transition right into the arms of the family i've chosen for myself in my oh so exciting twenties. granted i won't be friends with all of the kids i've ever seen at WGSU or people whom i've kept in close company for many a pot smoking night. you know that whole college addage of "there are just so many fucking people i only see when i'm either drunk or stoned." maybe mark twain said it, i can't really be sure. regardless, geneseo has been home away from home in a really incredible way. like in the way that in new home and with new family i do indeed laugh at shitty movies, talk politics, expound on the wonders of carlos d, and smoke weed to my little heart's content. which with the exception of expounding on carlos d, is actually similar to my blood family home life, but i digress.
ANYWAYS i am very happy to see that people haven't forgotten me as i've gotten a small amount of emails, but i'd say, from the kids i really care about. it feels really good that people want to stay in touch from the other side and like i said, gimme your address, YOU'RE GODDAMNED GETTING SOMETHING IN THE MAIL.
and although i won't know entirely who's been keeping up with the blog, i can send out two vegetarian oriented cookies, or some shit like that, to danny epz and courtney for sending them comments, keeping me abreast of g town happenins, as well as keeping my euro-ego in check by saying REMEMBER YOUR RURAL ROOTS ANGELA. it's true. i do have them, and for whatever reason in western new york.
it's nice to have roots in so many different places.
if that isn't a fantastic synopsizing sappy statement, well then i don't know what is.
and JAKE of all people, sent me one of the most fantastic emails in a very sentimental unlike jake way, but like jake way, in that morgan freeman somehow worked his way into the email, simply of course, with a beautiful bit from the shawshank redemption
I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope that the Pacific (or even lake ontario) is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.
See you all in Zihuatanejo
but if you can't get there, i'll see you in Geneseo.
